Duties and Responsibilities:
Setting the mission and values of the school and ensuring that an ethical culture of trust, honesty, and integrity is promoted throughout the organization.
- Providing advice, counsel, and support to the school’s leadership.
- Establishing measures of the school’s performance and utilizing those measures to ensure leadership accountability; this shall include the regular monitoring of operational performance.
- Reviewing the school’s program for management development and succession planning.
- Overseeing the conduct of the school’s business and strategic plans to evaluate whether the business is being effectively managed following the school’s mission.
- Acting with integrity and adhering to the policies in the school’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and the Conflict-of-Interest Policy.

Dr. Melissa Bedell Caruso
An experienced educational leader specializing in school improvement and leadership. She earned her Ph.D. in Education with a focus on Leadership K-12 from Capella University. Currently serving as an Assistant Principal at a turnaround elementary school in Pasco County, Dr. Caruso has a proven track record in transforming school culture and practices. Her career includes roles as a program coordinator and conference facilitator, where she developed and delivered professional development on standards-based instruction and equity in education. She has received multiple awards, including the District Assistant Principal of the Year for Pasco County Schools.
Arlene Castelli
A dedicated educator with over 16 years of experience as a principal. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from the University of South Florida. Currently, she serves as the principal of King High School, where she has significantly improved student achievement and engagement. Arlene has also led Williams Middle School and Giunta Middle School, implementing International Baccalaureate programs and mentoring future principals. Her professional experience is complemented by extensive training in educational leadership and active involvement in community initiatives.
Roberta Eagly
An education professional with a focus on hands-on learning and therapy-based environments. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida and is certified in ESOL, ESE, and Reading. Currently a Behavior Specialist at Fox Hollow Elementary, Roberta oversees student behavior plans and provides support to teachers and students. Her experience includes roles as an intervention specialist, social studies teacher, and lead teacher in various educational settings, where she has developed and implemented curricula and behavior management programs.
April Ross
A seasoned educator and project coordinator with extensive experience in curriculum development and special education. She earned her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University. As the Project Coordinator for the Titans UP Program at St. Petersburg College, April oversees a grant-funded program supporting students with intellectual disabilities. Her career includes roles in district leadership and as a special education teacher. April has managed multiple educational projects, developed instructional media, and earned numerous accolades for her contributions to education.
